PTA & After School Activities

Dear Science Fair Participants,

 

Thank you for signing up for the Science Fair!  As we get ready for the Science Fair next week, we wanted to pass along some reminders and information to help the students complete their projects and get ready for judging activities.

Project Display Board Submittals

Display boards are DUE on Monday, April 22, 2024 by 2:30pm in the MPR.

Gate 2 will be open from 7:35 - 7:50am and again from 2:15pm and after

Any boards delivered during the school day will need to be brought into the front office.

Reminder: Please ensure student's name, grade and teacher's name are written on the front of the board.

 

Science Project Judging

Science Fair judging will happen on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 during school hours.

Students will be asked to spend 5 mins with our judges to present and discuss their project.

A copy of the judges scoring rubric can be found here.

Also, here's a list of questions that may be asked by the judges:

• What led you to your hypothesis? Why did you think it was going to ...(judge inserts what students wrote)? 

• Tell me about your procedure? How did you figure out if your hypothesis was accurate or not? 

• Can you tell us a little more about your data (charts, tables, observations)?

• If you could do the experiment again, what would you do differently?

• Did anything not go as planned? 

• How did this project help you as a learner?

Science Awards Night

You are invited to join us for a special Science Fair Awards Night for all family & friends of our student participants on Thursday, April 25, 2024.  See attached flyer here.

• Doors open at 5:30pm for families to preview the gallery of submissions

• Award ceremony begins at 6:00pm
